The Fire Operations Division, otherwise know as Operations, provides fire protection, rescue services, and medical first responder service to over 3000 citizens in a fire service coverage area of over 206 square miles and EMS coverage at nearly 630 square miles. With the seasonal population change of Heber-Overgaard, operations now handles over 1000 emergency incidents a year (2017).
With 16 full-time Firefighters and a staff of Reserve Firefighers many, having their Paramedic certification, the department places Advanced Life Support equipment and supplies on all Rescues and first-out Fire Engines. This gives these Firefighter-Paramedics the resources they need to deliver a higher level of medical care as a part of their first response to an incident. Together with our Emergency Medical Services with transport capabilities, we are one of the best protected communities on the Mogollon Rim.
