AZalert offers a free service to
community members who are interested in keeping connected with the
information that is important to them. This can include anything from
fire alerts, special law enforcement concerns to school closures
through out the year. Once you sign up for the service you will be able
to receive text message or email notifications of these events when
they become available. This will serve as an extension to the weekly
publication the Mogollon Connection in the Heber-Overgaard area.
Keep in mind that although it is a
free service through AZalert, regular text message rates apply should
you choose to utilize the service on your mobile phone. AZalert is
currently developing multi service plans so as to better serve the
public which will eventually allow you to pick the type of information
that you would like to receive notification on. This will cut down on
the number of notifications that you receive. We hope that this will be
available this winter.
In order to sign up, you will simply send
a blank message to signup@azalert.com com
to subscribe to the service. You must do this from the email account or
mobile device that you want the service to send the notifications to.
You will receive instant notification back should you have done this
successfully, however it may take up to 24 hours to be added to the
list of recipients. To be removed from the list, simply send an
additional message to remove@azalert.com using the same email or mobile device. Please
allow 24 hours to be removed from the list.
